Former Navy Officer presents his book, “Woman of Substantial Character” to Governor | KNO

JAMMU, NOVEMBER 13 (KNO) : Governor N.N. Vohra was presented a copy of "Woman of Substantial Character", a book written by Commodore (Retd.) Dalbir Singh Sodhi at the Raj Bhavan here today. This book provides researched references on the status of women as given in the various Holy scriptures. This book also brings out the social evils prevalent in society and particularly focuses on Domestic Violence against women. The author has attempted to voice a message on a problem which is weakening the moral fabric of the country and has also highlighted the role of the media in fighting this meance. Commodore Sodhi apprised the Governor that the proceeds from this book would be used to help girls from economically weak background to pursue education. Governor complimented Commodore Sodhi for writing on a very relevant theme which calls for immediate attention by the civil society. He observed that this book would be useful in spreading awareness about social evils which are prevalent in modern day society and the need to end the reprehensible practice of Domestic Violence. Lauding Commodore Sodhi for his contribution and commitment towards the people of Jammu and Kashmir, Governor wished him success in all his future endeavours (KNO) ]
